OnePlus sold 1.5 million OnePlus One in 12 months

And in a few days, it will launch the OnePlus 2, which will be easier to buy.

In January, we learned that the Chinese manufacturer had already sold a million units of its flagship killer. And today we know that 1,500,000 units of OnePlus One were sold by the manufacturer in the space of 12 months.

The information was revealed by the Wall Street Journal, which recently spoke with Carl Pei, co-founder of the start-up.

Currently OnePlus already has over 900 employees and sells low-cost smartphones in 35 countries. We also learn that the company plans to open a store in Europe and strengthen its presence in the United States.

To recap, the OnePlus One smartphone was unveiled in April 2014. But it went on sale in the month of June. And given the buzz that has benefited the OnePlus One and its builder, one can imagine that it could have sold more. But as you may know already, it uses an invitation system which makes purchasing the smartphone rather difficult.

There are a few weeks OnePlus explained that this allows to limit risks when does not know how the markets will react relative to the product. According to him, it is less dangerous for a company to have an unsold stock than selling too few moving.

The OnePlus 2, successor to the OnePlus One, will be unveiled by the end of this July and we already know quite a lot about the Price, Specifications and Availability of OnePlus 2.
