In order to make Alexa available on more devices, including connected accessories, Amazon is launching a kit that will allow manufacturers to offer products that take advantage of the features of this artificial intelligence without doing much coding.
Although Alexa is currently the most used artificial intelligence on connected speakers, Amazon's product is not very present on other types of electronic products. However, the giant is now conquering connected accessories thanks to a new technology called Alexa Mobile Accessory Kit that allows manufacturers to easily integrate Alexa and benefit from the features of artificial intelligence on their products.
Amazon says that with this kit, builders' engineers will not need to do much coding for Alexa integration anymore.
In essence, by using this kit, manufacturers can connect their products to Alexa Voice Service (and have the features of Alexa) through the smartphones, which accessories will be linked via Bluetooth. This suggests that users will also need to install the Amazon Alexa app on Android or iOS.
The types of products targeted by Amazon are accessories such as smart watches, helmets or fitness wristbands. And even if this kit will be available later in the year, Amazon already announces some partners: Bose, Jabra, iHome, Beyerdynamic and Linkplay.
According to the e-commerce giant, these companies are committed to offering this new experience with Alexa on their products compatible with Bluetooth, this year.
Currently, Google Assistant is progressing tremendously thanks to Android smartphones on which artificial intelligence is installed.
With this kit, Amazon can hope to offer the Alexa experience beyond its connected speakers.
On the other hand, in order to use the Bose devices or iHome that will use the new kit Amazon, people will also install the application Amazon Alexa on their smartphones.
