YouTube video sharing service continues to improve. After adding the option of watching videos in 60 fps, it is now possible to stream live at 60 fps, in both 720p in 1080p.
YouTube offers for 6 months viewing videos in 60 fps and more recently it allows 1080p video at 60 fps for 4K format. This time it is the live broadcast will go to 60 fps in 720p and 1080p both. YouTube is trying to catch up on Twitch and Dailymotion regarding the streaming . Gamers who are accustomed to broadcast live their game sessions will benefit from this new option which is currently in beta stage.
Alan Joyce, Product Manager at YouTube explained: "When you start your broadcast on YouTube in 60 FPS, transcoderont your 720p60 and 1080p60 stream in, which means smooth playback for video games and other video where the action is fast. We ensure that your stream is also a 30 FPS for devices where 60 FPS videos viewing is not available, waiting to improve this feature in the coming weeks".
In developing this new mode of distribution, YouTube announced that it has worked with various partners, Elgato and Xsplit, both players in the streaming including video games.

60 fps format allows the videos to be much more fluid when viewing, including game trailers from where the action is fast. It is therefore logical that YouTube after authorized the format for viewing 60 fps, does the same for the live broadcast in 720p and 1080p.
