A new patent LG reveals a very strange concept

LG Electronics has patented a design rather crazy, with a smartphone and a kind of strap that attach together to form the least ergonomic smartwatch the world. It is a strange futuristic and downright crazy mix. The bracelet seems to have some sort of locking mechanism to hold the smartphone up, allowing it to remain on the bracelet (and arm) very stably.

Although it may sound futuristic, it would eliminate the problem currently smartwatches that are increasingly powerful to retrieve all the notifications and smartphone information. But, this would be detrimental to both the aesthetic subtlety of a smartwatch.

Considering that LG was one of the most active leaders in the connected watch sector, one can legitimately doubt that the Korean firm stops the development of these. Nevertheless, it may be new ideas as to what the mobile market could provide in the near future.

While LG regularly sells smartphones that measure 120 to 150 mm long, it is doubtful that anyone has a desire to wear it on a wrist bracelet. LG may be imagining smaller devices, able to adapt to the bracelet, and allowing people to have a smartwatch without the hassle of connectivity to a smartphone via Bluetooth.

Patents are constantly placed by companies in technology, with few, if any explanation of how these could be applied in everyday life, let alone the concept will be marketed.

This patent should definitely be classified in the "crazy project" , unless LG has the desire to create a smart device with magnetic connections in the near future.
